A corporate executive or businessman has to travel ever so often. In our company, our account managers move from one country to another. I’ve heard so many stories about their luggage being lost or perhaps stolen. One would always expect they have travel insurance, and yes they do.
I found this unique travel gadget (but more of a service) called Global Bag Tag and wondered if it’s all worth it. It’s a retrieval service for you to register your valuables into their database. You purchase a number of tags and include your travel itinerary and the tags are delivered to you for use.
So, instead of having your usual cardboard tags or even hideous stickers on your laptop, PDAs, or mobile phones, you can have a cool looking tag. When lost, then you can track it through the website. They are affiliated with airlines so that in case they log in unclaimed luggage, it can help trace yours and notify you when it’s found.
It’s a nice concept but knowing that since 1999 they only sold 150,000 units, this means it’s not worth it. There are other services out there to help guard and ensure your luggage and gadgets are safe and sound.
