Before we get started with this monitor, I have to question Sony and their naming schemes. This doesn't apply to Sony alone, but what they heck.MFM-HT205 is as tough to type as it is to say. Is this the best you can come up with? Board meetings, product engineers, CEO's, corporate vacations, and it all boils down to the MFT-HT205? How about some creativity next time?
Ok, here is what the monitor actually does.
- High Definition
- TV and LCD computer monitor
- 1680 x 1050 resolution
- 6 ms response time
- 1600:1 contrast ratio
- PIP (picture in picture) that will allow you to watch TV in a small square while you use your computer and vice-versa.
- $900 price tag
- Bake brownies
Apparently Sony doesn't know what we, as consumers, want and need. If you can afford to spend $900 on a 20" monitor, but can't afford a decent sized HD TV for the living room, something is wrong.
Who is at their computer so much that you need HD?
For practical purposes this monitor does offer good resolution, good contrast, sweet response time, but no real value to me.
This monitor/TV gets a 3/10 in my book.
