Soldius Solar Powered Charger Doesn't Charge Me
mysoldiussolarcharger.jpgOk, I feel I've been pretty nice to the products and companies that I've reviewed so far.

This one won't be so nice (just a nice, upfront warning).

I don't know if it is possible to actually waste solar power, but this product does come pretty close.

From Soldius, this solar powered battery charger seems like a waste of time.

At $99 it also seems like a waste of money.  I don't know where these people expect me to go, but I have never been somewhere that I couldn't get to a power source within 4 days (approximately my cell phone battery time with moderate use).

A review at The Gadgeteer showed that the Soldius1® Universal Solar Charger will not charge a completely dead battery.  The battery has to have some juice left, or your $99 charger is a paper weight.

I've asked Soldius if I can demo this product in hopes of possibly understanding the actual function it might serve.

I love the idea of solar power, wish we did more with solar power, and own a few solar powered products, however this won't be one of them.

As of right now, I will stick to my wall chargers and car chargers

Love the interaction on this one. Definitely worth the read and debate. Good job partner! :-)

Pretty lame review for something you haven't tried and obviously know little about. I am a mapping professional and spend extended periods of time in the back country mapping trails. I've used a Soldius charger with excellent results for over two years now charging cell phones, gps equipment, and Wolverine data drives. The Soldius works great.

you won't know until you've tried it. I guess Jayvee is not a jungle person.

well, I'm planning a 4 day hike and need to power a gps, blackberry, and ipod. Only real problem is the blackberry that won't last more than a couple of days. no outlets within miles. ordered one today.
