As with most good cell phones these days, it will be released in Asia first. Keep your eyes on this one though. The MING is Linux based has a 2 megapixel camera, business card scanner and optical-character recognition software.
Also standard on this bad boy is a hands-free speakerphone, and you can also dial by talking to the phone.
For productivity, the MING has a document viewer, which I assume will display PDF's, HTML and .DOC (Microsoft Word) files as a minimum.
Here is the breakdown of all of the features in an easy to take-to-your-boss-and-tell-him-you-need-it list:
- 2 megapixel camera
- business card scanner
- optical-character recognition software
- hands-free speakerphone
- voice dialing
- document viewer
- POP3 email support
- calendar
- task list
- contact manager
- advanced contact manger with photos and specific ringtones for different callers
- music player
- FM stereo receiver
- Bluetooth®
One of the interesting parts of this phone is the clear-crystal flip cover. This cover allows you to view contacts, callers, email, etc, all without opening the cover. That will help to keep the screen scratch free.
As I said before, this phone will not be available in the US for a couple months.
Pricing without rebates should be around $300. Not bad for a PDA/Cellphone combo.
